This course will better inform the designer on quartz, the history, its relationship with quartz surfacing materials and the manufacturing process of quartz surfacing materials. Design professionals will learn the differences between solid surfaces, stone surfaces and quartz surfaces. At the conclusion of the course you should also know what Microban is and how when used as an additive to quartz surfacing materials can become an antimicrobial surface, mold and mildew resistant.

This one hour live course describes the importance of recycled content surfaces and their environmental significance including reducing the use of natural resources and improving indoor air quality. We will compare and contrast traditional and recycled surfacing materials and explain the importance of “going beyond green.”
